Seema Ahmed works as a Project Director at the Pathways to Success program at CUNY LaGuardia Community College, providing supportive services to expectant and parenting students. Seema has been an active leader in the immigrant and South Asian Communities for the past 16 years. Her passion for social justice and community organizing began at an early age during her internship experience at South Asian Youth Action (SAYA), where she actively participated in a peer-led advocacy group for the Muslim community post 9/11. She continues to serve and advocate for the immigrant communities, most specifically the South-Asian and Muslim communities focusing on social justice, language access, health and mental health wellness and family relationships.
Seema holds a Masters of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and is a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW). In addition, she is an Adjunct Professor at Laguardia Community College in the Human Services Department.
